Our old favorites are back in time for the holidays, and not a minute too late. I, for one, have simultaneously run out of my brightening serum, toning mist (more here), and cleanser, all of which I swear by for everyday use. And, really, I’m not sure there’s anything I want more for Christmas than the things I depend on daily to keep me feeling (and, OK, looking) my best.*
Some reasons we love the products, if you’re new to Kahina Giving Beauty: The line is incredible. Their products have been in my bathroom and on my vanity for more than three years now, and there are a few good reasons why. First, the products are gentle enough for my very sensitive skin. Second, they’re so full of natural actives that you get the satisfaction of knowing, because of what you see in the mirror and how your skin feels, that they work. Finally, they’re pleasant to share. Men like them because they’re unisex and unfussy but get the job done. Our moms like them because they’re appropriate for more mature skin, too. Our friends like them because they give them a taste of luxury and high-performance without being frou-frou or gimmicky.
Simply put: They work. And like a great friend or partner, they’re reliable and they make you feel good, day in, day out.
Without being over the top, I’d like to add: I’m also wild about the eye cream and the mask and the argan oil soap trio. They’re also selling these unpredictably chic pouf necklaces (I have one of those, too). They make boring outfits pop and attract compliments from the most unlikely people, like cranky strangers on the train.
So with that said, this Friday we’re delighted to share a very merry Kahina site-wide deal. It’s simple: A generous 15% off your purchase. The code is nondenominationally charming: HAPPYMERRY. And the deal lasts until next Thursday at midnight.
What are you getting? I hope my pals and mom aren’t reading this, because I think I just gave away what’s going in their stockings.
* K, maybe there are a few things, but they’re not the kind of things I would print here. Womp!
No surprise here! We teased it yesterday with Siobhan’s rave review… In short: Oops, they’ve done it again, because we have another favorite product from Kahina. This one uses all natural ingredients like extracts of wakame and lily flowers, along with time-tested staples like argan and aloe to help even your complexion, fight free radicals, brighten, and—as always—nourish the skin. Here’s what’s on offer…
Kahina Giving Beauty is giving our readers a 15% discount of this wonderful Brightening Serum when you use the code BRIGHT15. But because they now offer free ground shipping on any orders over $50, that means you’ll get that too.
If you’re not 100% sure, know that they are also giving away free samples of the serum to try with ANY order. So you can always hurry and grab your usual favorites, and come back later in the week if you like the way the serum feels. This deal will run through until next Thursday.
What do you love from Kahina? And have you tried the serum?
If you want to know more about this product and its strange but intriguing ingredient list, the Kahina team has been posting tirelessly about it on their blog. Happy research! And above all, happy weekend. May yours be filled with fun.
When I was in the 5th grade, my then best friend and I wrote a poem together about our freckles.
We both had them, we both hated them, so we did what any normal school kids would do: We got together after school and wrote a rhyme about trying to scrub them out with some soap and a washcloth. (Spoiler alert: Didn’t work.)
People who say freckles are cute are usually in the enviable position of not having them. That said, now that I’m a grown up and I know better than to fight what nature gave me, I’ve kind of learned to love them. July rolls around and whoa, whoa, whoa: I look like the most Irish girl you’ve ever met. That can be kind of fun. But as any woman with freckles knows, they can be a bit of a pain when it comes to color-matching and looking kind of bright and glowy.
Not that I’ve been inclined to do anything about it. I would obviously never use mercury-contaminated hydroquinone on my face. But when Kahina’s Brightening Serum popped up in my mailbox, I was so excited.
Here was a product full of natural actives—antioxidant green tea, seaweed, white lilly, argan oil—that could possibly correct hyperpigmentation and fade sun damage from a brand I trust more than almost any brand in our category. Here was a product not promising to scrub out my freckles as I’d wanted to do as a preadolescent but to simply…brighten and even my skin. Who doesn’t want that?
So I took the bait, and it worked.
I’ve been using the serum for about five weeks, twice a day. It’s not drying or irritating to my high-reactive skin. And while I loved it right away, the results were more retiring. But about three or four weeks in I could say with confidence: This s*#t works.
My freckles aren’t gone, and thank god (see above). But my skin is noticeably more even, the freckles under my eyes have faded, and the overall look and feel of my skin is improved. The color of my skin is more even from forehead to chin. Taken together these feel like signs that I’m not making it up.
Gosh, Kahina. You’ve done it again.
Now before you go out and buy it, which you should, freckles or not, wait for our deal tomorrow. (!!!)
And in the meantime: Have you ever tried a skin-evening cream or something for hyperpigmentation? And do you, like me, my childhood bestie Simone, and Anne of Green Gables, have freckles?
