What’s In My Makeup Bag: Diana’s Makeup Monday
Happy Makeup Monday! This post makes us want to amp up our blush collection. So many great recommendations!
Name: Diana Hightower
Where I Live: Massachusetts
My Relationship with Makeup: I have always been entranced with the ceremony of putting on makeup. It feels so sacred. My mother never really wore it, but I was influenced by books and especially in my travels as a young girl. I lived abroad in Saudi Arabia from age 2-7 and we traveled extensively. I completely took in all of the sights, and sounds and the exotic looks from the kohl on the eyes of a Arabic girl to the bright makeup featured in a pantomime in Bangkok. I was the kid stealing my sister’s makeup and practicing in the mirror.
Since I became a mom and began my blog Product Mommy I have become more concerned with the safety of what I put on my face and my body. I decided to “clean” up my makeup and now it interestingly makes putting on my “face” even more fun.
In my bag right now…
Concealer: Vapour Organic Beauty Illusionist I love the scent, and how well it covers my hereditary under-eye circles. I often look like Uncle Fester when I wake up and this just eliminates those circles completely.
Foundation: Vapour Organic Atmoshphere Soft Focus in S100. It smells so fabulous and herbally and makes my skin look flawless.
Blush: I am what you might call a blush junkie! I am currently very obsessed with cream blushes and the word “multi-use” always grabs me. I own a few cream blushes and depending on what I am wearing, I change it up. Right now I am devoted to RMS Beauty Lip 2 Cheek in Illusive on my cheek bones and RMS Buriti Bronzer on the apples of my cheeks. My skin is loving the coconut oil. I use Vapour Organic Aura Multi-Use in Spark and Courtesan and Vapour Organic Aura Multi-Use Stain in Lure(perfect for a deeper fall flush and works great as a lip stain too!). I have recently begun using Ilia Multi-Stick in All of Me. I like the slight flush it gives, but it definitely need reapplying more often than the others.Kjaer Weiss in Sun Touched is perfect for spring and summer (and the compact feels so luxurious).
Eyeshadow: I have deep-set eyes so I use a bit of RMS Beauty Living Luminizer in the corners of my eyes and on my brow bones.
Mascara: Pure Anada Natural Mascara in Black. The search for a “clean” mascara that works is over for me. I love how long and voluminous it makes my lashes look. I even tried to make my own “clean” mascara and nothing compares to this.
Lips: I always apply Kari Gran Lip Whip or Osmia Organic Honey-Myrhh Lip Repair while putting on my makeup, to really moisturize my lips. I am currently using Vapour Organic Siren Lipstick in Holidaywhich I love for the scent, moisture and how it gives my lips the perfect flush. I also use Kjaer Weiss Lip Tint in Sensuous Plum for a “my lips but better look.”
Perfume: This has been my favorite part of going organic and natural. I use Tata Harper Aromatic Stress Treatment before meetings and before bed. For everyday scents I cannot get enough of Lurk Perfume oils. I currently use LURK RS005, PRJV1 and BS 003. I think creator, Anne Sanford is changing the fragrance world. They make me feel so classy and sexy at the same time.
I usually drink green or Jasmine tea every morning from my favorite tea suppliers Harney & Sons and that sometimes gives me a massive craving for my Intelligent Nutrients 100% Pure Jasmine Absolute. I feel feral when I wear it.
