It’s Official: We’re Hiring!

Dear readers, help! We are seeking an awesome (smart, independent, energetic) assistant to help us manage this site and take it to the next level!

If you’ve ever sent us an email you know that we are spotty on response at best, totally MIA at worst. Well, here’s why: Other than the addition of Rebecca’s awesome posts we have nobody helping us run this site. No interns, no generous pals (well, OK, we have generous pals, just not ones who work on our site for free).

So we finally want to hire someone to help us get our s***t together and make this site a more awesome place to hang out. The job would be very part time—about 5 hours a week to start—and wouldn’t pay a whole lot at the beginning. So if you think this is you, it’s probably best that you have a second job or school and are excited at the prospect of helping this grow. The more competent the individual, the more likely this could one day turn into a full-time gig—and then some!

The person we’re looking for is:

—A total self-starter with a passion for connecting with people and growing communities

—Experienced or interested in marketing/PR/social media and writing

—Tech-savvy; WordPress, Photoshop and social media skills a must

—Energetic with a positive attitude

—Business-minded

—Loves to socialize both on and off the web

—Passionate about clean beauty!

The job would involve:

—Checking and responding to NMDL emails daily

—Fielding our interview requests and pestering us to meet deadlines

—Managing relationships with brands and making new connections

—Exploring ways to monetize the site that don’t sacrifice its integrity

—Setting up community-content morning posts daily, copy editing and formatting as needed

—Helping with our Facebook/Twitter and beyond

—Organizing deals and contests as needed

—Possibly contributing to the site as a writer

Sounds fun, right? There’s much to do! If you are this person or know someone who would be perfect please email: nomoredirtylooks at gmail dot com with a subject that gets our attention. :) But if we don’t get back to you, please don’t be offended! Given our current bandwidth, this could be a slow process…

Hey all, so we’re based in NY/LA and it would be awesome to find someone there but… we’re not going to discriminate by location. :)

@Caroline We’re definitely interested in getting more contributors, we just need to find an assistant first who can help manage those relationships!

  9. Emma B says:

I’m not the woman for the job since I’m busy with my own crazy life, but this is exciting stuff!
I would definitely be interested in reading from contributors with different perspectives. In fact, I am considering starting my own blog once I finish my PhD, but with more of a health research/wellness focus… maybe I’ll send some pieces your way!

Did you guys read my mind!

I recently told my husband that I was bored and needed to find something to do. I am 39 years old and have a 9 year old (growing on 30) daughter. I work part-time, 12 hours a week, at a church in my city. I am responsible for all the development and design for all the advertising materials as well as running the office and book keeping. (I work with two men and I keep them on track so I think that would qualify me as a self-starter) I work proficiently in Photoshop, publisher – you name it and I can do it. I have a double major in Marketing/Business Administration. Before parenthood I worked for our Tourist Bureau in the Public Relations Department and also for a bank in P.R. I am crazy about natural products. I check your blog every day for new articles. I love, love, love to read the “Skin and Hair Routine Exposed.” I went clean cold-turkey after reading the book. After I read it I sent it to my neighbor and then my mom and sister. I subscribe to Goodebox and give my samples to friends hoping they will develop and interest in natural products.

  14. Nicolle says:

Pretty sure I’d do this job for free – it sounds so great! Look for my recently sent email. Can’t wait to find out more!

  15. Alexandra says:

Siobhan and are now joking-but-not-joking that we should just hire a whole staff and really get things moving. Seriously, we’re thrilled to see so many awesome people interested!

  16. Tara R. says:

Wow! This is such a great opportunity! I am taking the summer off to enjoy my boys, just graduated from nursing school (last week, woohoo!!!). I am definitely sending in an email. I stalk your website at least 5x/day and love learning about new things – i.e., Kahina Giving Beauty is my new LOVE for skincare!! I am not looking for much money, just to continue to learn and grow as well as share information with others to help them make conscious decisions!

  17. Antoinette says:

So interested in this opportunity, sent my email in a couple of days ago. I really appreciate you ladies, for giving us this chance!

  18. Alina says:

I wish I could apply to be a apart of such great website but Im not qualified enough.

  19. Sarah says:

Doh! I just sent y’all an email and had the audacity to type ‘NMDH’ in the subject line instead of ‘NMDL’! Hoping that you’ll forgive me and read my email despite my clear moment of brain freeze–I promise it’ll be worth it :)

  20. Emily V. says:

Add me to the list of gals who are jumping at this opportunity. Just sent my email, I hope I’m not too late!

  21. Alexandra says:

Hi all! Nobody is too late yet, we’re still sifting through all the amazing applications.
