Happy Friday Deal from Us and Acure (via OpenSky)!

No this isn’t the end of Friday Deals as we know them, but because we had a date mixup this week, and because I’m absolutely wild about the Acure products were featuring today on Open Sky, I decided to tell you about this deal with Acure for the next 14 hours.

OpenSky, if you don’t already know, is a membership site, so if that’s not your thing (they will send you emails) skip it. But if it is, know that they offer amazing deals on products recommended by people like us all the way to people like, well, Shaq.

This week we’re featuring a 3-product package from Acure. Valued at $64, for the next 14 hours you can get it for $50! Three clean products for $50… kind of a miracle in the naturals market I’d say.

The package includes a day cream, a night cream, as well as a scrub cleanser. I’ve tried all three and am pretty much floored at the quality of product Acure Organics puts out at their price point. I feel it’s the type of brand S and I only dreamed would exist one day when we started the book—insanely clean, commited to fair trade, widely available, and really effective.

Anyways, the three products are fabulous. The scrub is definitely scrubby, so I use it sparingly, but love the way it feels when I do and find it especially useful on more congested areas. The creams are pretty much perfect (that’s them on my desk at work). I favor the night one a little bit, only because I like a slightly heavier cream. But given that it’s summer, and even LA is a little muggier than usual these days, I’m all over this day one too. Chlorella, if you’re wondering, is a single-celled algae and I’m not going pretend I totally understand all of its magical powers. I do know that like most of the ingredients in Acure’s stuff it’s nutrient-dense, in this case including omegas and powerful antioxidants. Chlorella is also a known detoxifier. The products feature other stellar ingredients too, like argan oil, aloe, acai and other antioxidants, as well as calmers like chamomile. Mmm.

We know there are many Acure fans here who use the hair products. But have you tried their skincare too? What do you think?

Does Opensky ship to Canada yet?

  2. Alexandra says:

Not yet. :( But word is they’re working on it… Just asked.

  3. Melanie says:

Thanks for the info! Will keep tuned for when they do.

Thank you ladies for this great deal. I love OpenSky because not only can you find discounts on great items recommended by Siobhan and Alexandra, but they also give you credits every now and again. I just happened to still have a $10 credit which I was able to use towards this Acure Organics deal. What a steal for three clean products!

I really might die without Acure. Melodramatic I know, but I use their scrub, creamy cleanser (the green one, not the gel), and argan oil (High quality, fair-trade argan oil for 15?!?! Are you for REAL?! Insane.) religiously and my skin has NEVER looked better. I love them. The cleanser and oil are two of my desert island non negotiables (the third being Ilia lip conditioner in Bang Bang, which I found because of your review! :)), and the scrub is the best I’ve found. I don’t know what I’d do without them- my picky, sensitive skin has never loved anything so much!

I’d love to hear anyone’s experiences with Acure’s skincare line. I’ve been looking for a good cleanser and toner for my sensitive/oily skin, and the ingredients in the scrub in this deal and some of the other products on Acure’s website do look pretty good.

I’m still working on a bottle of the chamomile + carrot day cream & also the gel cleanser. I just ordered their mint cream cleanser yesterday because I think the gel one is too drying for my face. Great products overall. I’m addicted to their shampoo/conditioner. Can’t find a better product for that price anywhere else! Now if only they made some styling products too…

I use the night cream and scrub and love them both! Scrub is not the best smelling thing in the world however, but at least they aren’t using a fragrance?

  9. Geri says:

I have tried nearly everything in the skin care line-except the gel cleanser and LOVE them ALL! The green cleanser is amazing-my face has never felt so good after cleansing. The mask is double amazing, too for those who haven’t tried it. I haven’t tried the hair products yet but want to after reading from so many of you. I learn so much from all of you-keep your comments coming!! Lola–I just looked up bijabody-I’ll be sending for some of the body oil! And I just got some products from Chagrin Valley that I learned about from one of you(sorry-I can’t remember who).

@Jessica, I have very sensitive and very problematic oily skin, and Acure’s mint cream cleanser is the best I’ve ever tried- and I’ve tried everything from Clinique (horror) to Kate Somerville (way too pricey for me). For a while I used Blissoma’s Mild Rice Cleanser, but it didn’t do a very good job removing makeup, so I only use it occasionally in the morning- though I do highly recommend it for girls who don’t mind double cleansing, because it is very calming and doesn’t strip the skin at all. Acure’s mint cream cleanser does leave me tight if I don’t follow with oil/moisturizer, but since I’d use that anyway it doesn’t bother me, and it gets rid of every trace of makeup (even waterproof mascara). Their toner made me break out, but I kind of asked for it since one of the active ingredients is witch hazel, which my skin doesn’t do well with. I highly recommend trying the cream cleanser- the gel was way too drying for me.

I literally bought a new bottle of the Day Cream yesterday- darn it! ;-) It’s fantastic stuff.

@Lola, thanks for sharing, especially since it sounds as if your skin is pretty similar to mine. I love to hear about other people’s experiences with products. It sounds as if Acure’s a really great line for most people, and it’s awesome that they focus on fair trade. I appreciate all the other comments on here as well! This site always has such a wealth of information. :)

I LOVE the hair products and had high hopes for the skincare items but sadly was disappointed. I tried the mint cream cleanser, and the hydrating toner, and the day cream but collectively they were too drying for my skin. [even though they were the gentle/hydrating products :( ] I’ve been using the argan oil since can’t beat their price, but beyond that, I’ve given up on the skincare items. Very sad!
