New Products from Soapwalla, Tsi La and Ilia!

There are three things I’m trying right now that I absolutely love, so instead of spacing them out and making you all wait, because I’m frankly too excited to wait, I’m going to review all three at the same time. I will go into more detail about all three at some later date.

Now, my three favorite products—all of which are new…and lovely.

1. Soapwalla Lip Locked: Guys! Soapwalla made a lip balm! We’ve been talking about lip balms over here and you all shared your favorites. I was mum because mine was brand new and I wanted to give it some time before I declared it the best lip balm I’ve ever tried. But the time’s come: Soapwalla’s lip balm is incredible. It looks so pretty on lips, it’s incredibly hydrating and non-addicting, and the citrus-ginger one makes my lips sing! (Not literally.) Every ingredient other than the wax is organic, plus, it’s vegan, which is great for a lot of you, since so many lip balms have beeswax in them.

2. Tsi La Fiori D’Arancio organic perfume. I’m on a perfume kick, as regular readers will know. I spent years looking for one I could love, and now I’m faced with an embarrassment of riches. I still love and wear Lotus Wei Transformative Perfume in Infinite Love every day. I also have been dipping back into my Tata Harper Anti-Irritability Treatment, which is lovely as a perfume. Honore Des Pres still totally floats my boat. And now there’s a new one in the mix, by Tsi La. When I opened up the package, I’ll be honest, I scrunched up my nose as I normally do when I smell perfume. I dislike so many of them, and have been primed to preemptively scowl, expecting the worst. No need here. This is my dream scent in a bottle: A little citrus, a little vanilla, some neroli—it’s surprisingly complex and it’s put me on the receiving end of more than a few “You smell greats.” Which I love.

3. Ilia lipsticks in new colors, plus multi-item sticks. We’re nuts about Ilia lipsticks, as many of you already know. They’re ultra soft and slippery, they stay put, the colors are lovely, and they’re hydrating, which means you can reapply at will. Now, on her recently revamped website, you can see her multi-use sticks and illuminators, both of which we are dying to try, new lipstick colors, which we have tried and love, and the tinted lip conditioners we’ve talked about in the past. Gah!

What new products do you have in your arsenal?

To be frank, I don’t normally explore new products. I am just really suspicious of marketing and loathe being marketed to, plus I am somewhat of a minimalist. Online I always purchase directly from the source, so as not to participate in any online publisher/advertiser schemes. (I don’t want that junk on my computer.) If I find that something I am using has changed and I am no longer enjoying that product as I formerly have, I will venture out, but that is really it. Suffice it to say, I don’t venture out too much. My latest and greatest attempt to venture out was a recent purchase of Burt’s Bees lip shimmer, while also purchasing my normal cache of Burt’s Bees lip balm. I had run out lip stick and thought I might give Burt’s Bees a try. Before that, based on a lovely recommendation from a person on this blog, I purchased some almond oil from my local health food store. Actually, those are probably the only cosmetic/personal care items I’ve purchased in about six month.

I love Lip balm (I feel like Brick from Anchorman just then when he gets all, “I love lamp” and he MEANS it! AND SO DO I). It’s been a journey finding the right natural one and I had settled on Intelligent Nutrients Lip Delivery (not the squeeze-em’s but the stick) until today. I loooove me some Soapwalla, so I will most definitely be trying her lip balm!

Tsi La Fiori D’Arancio is totes my scent! I too am not a huge fan of perfumes. I think I must have some weird allergy because most perfumes will make me sneeze uncontrollably. Thus, I generally kick all perfumes to the curb. I was so happy to find Tsi La, which I found by exploring SBL, and HEYO – it’s the perfect scent for this gal. Success!

And WAIT WAIT WAIT…when I said I love lip balm, I also meant all make-up that is lip oriented. NEON ANGEL by ILIA is calling my name! Ordering that beauty right this very minute!

I honestly haven’t really added much to my arsenal lately so the Soapwalla lip balm and new ILIA color are exciting discoveries! Thanks for the tip!!

I couldn’t agree more about Ilia. I LOVE their colors, the quality, and the fact that they hydrate as well. Can’t wait to try their new products…and the new site design looks great. Thanks for the heads up.

@comagirl … sadly, Burt’s was just revealed by the FDA as having lead in their lipstick. I was totally willing to give them a shot after they were purchased by … what was it? Clorox? or something else giant and bad, but now they are dead to me — having been totally huge greenwashy hypocrits. It was nice that it was so widely available, but no more! Anyway, I would keep my preaching to myself in any fora but this one — but since you’re here, you must be interested in this stuff! : ) Anyway, hope this is helpful.

My latest kick is exploring the world of non-toxic scents which is really exciting after years of avoiding smell in any product for years. Like you, Siobhan, I am smitten with Tata Harper’s irritability treatment and wear it more as a perfume than a treatment (although given my stress levels lately I’m sure the treatment is beneficial!) and ditto on the Infinite Love (although I have yet to see any results in being inundated with suitors, but here’s hoping!). In fact, I bought the whole set of Lotus Wei mini-sprays and while Infinte Love is the one I grab most often I’m enjoying them all. I’m trying not to stock up on any more – your Desert Island Challenge reminded me I’m trying to streamline products!!!

Another new thing for me is the Suki line – I’m using their foaming exfoliating cleanser (love it) as well as their bio-peel mask (love it, too) and I suspect I’ll branch out into more products as I find gaps in my bathroom cabinet.

Perhaps I’m missing something? Everything else seems good, except that I can’t find info on Red 7 or 28…
Seems like they don’t use a lot these things, if any, usually… buuut….

Sadly, I can’t use it anyway, because it is all full of citrus and other things that are bad for my persistent cold sores. However, I love this shade!

Does anyone know of lipsticks or tints that are gentle for those with cold sores?? No nuts oils, no citrus.

  7. Alissa says:

I have Soapwalla’s lip balm in Coconut Lime (two of my favourite flavours) and it is AWESOME. The best lip balm I’ve tried!! So so hydrating, makes lips look plump and juicy, and I find it’s a great base for my Ilia (I bought Bang Bang after Alexandra’s recommendation, and I’m so glad I did!). It’s perfect for my new (clean!) minimalist daytime look – tinted SPF, 100% pure mascara, a touch of Living Luminizer and a sweep of lip balm leaves me looking glowy and dewy.

  8. beautyjagd says:

Oh yessssss, the new lipbalms are great! I ordered all three, because I was so curious. I didn’t regret at at all :) . And I have to try some of the new Ilia Beautry Lipsticks – and the lipbalms, and the multi-use sticks…. Of course my credit card isn’t delighted ;)

  9. Rebecca says:

@reese, check out Real Purity, Afterglow, and my true love RMS. I have super sensitive lips and I can wear those brands. I like the prices on Real Purity and you can sample anything first.

    Thank you, Rebecca!
