Summer Hair Challenge: The Results Are In! (And We Are Floored)

Whoa, guys. We are, as the title says, floored. So many of you ladies—and spattering of gents—took us up on our second annual Summer Hair Challenge, and you all look freaking fabulous. More than 130 of you did it, which stands as a testament to how much this clean beauty thing is growing. As promised we have a winner. This lucky girl is going to get a basket loaded with amazing clean haircare courtesy of NuboNau.

And the winner is…77! Sarah from San Francisco! (Sarah, the rest of us are green with envy.)

Now, without further ado, have a look at our Summer Hair Challenge lovelies. Keep scrolling. There’s a lot of ’em. Feel free to fawn in the comments.

(Good thing our anonymous winner-picker didn’t pick 132, cause that number isn’t here. Oops! Instead we have 26a and 26b—don’t ask. Um, intern, anyone? Ya, we need one. And if we have any takers here who are amazing at organizational-type things, we’re on the hunt.)

To everyone who participated, we send a huge hug. We are deeply grateful for your support.

Please share this via your networks: your blogs, your Facebook and Twitter. This message of health and natural beauty seems to spread best through word of mouth.

P.S. If you’re missing the Friday Deal, we’re sorry! We just figured that since it’s a long weekend and some people are (hopefully) leaving work early, that we’d skip this week. Plus which, having 130 beauties up on the site for a few days wouldn’t look too shabby either. A most wonderful holiday to all!

I love this, and meant to enter but ran out of time, oops! I’ll spread the word. Here’s a photo to share of my summer hair challenge: http://www.thriftcore.com/2011/08/positive-body-image-is-thrifty-join.html

Going 100% natural and using no leave-ins is the best thing I ever did for my long, curly, dry hair. You fellow curlies know how hard it is to handle!

  2. Chloe says:

Haha, I love number 27!!! Great job everyone, you all look gorgeous.

  3. Andreina says:

Do you really need an intern? How many days x week?

  4. Rebecca says:

Wow, we are so HOT!!! My fave: 27. Rock on.

  5. Naomi says:

Wow – I’m both impressed by and a little jealous of how good everyone looks! Congratulations to you all for finding a way to make the challenge work for you!

  6. nancy says:

Such a good way to start a Friday!! Congratulations to all that sent their pics in and high cheers to NMDL for spreading the knowledge on clean beauty!!
    Happy weekend to all!

  7. Jenna says:

I think any of us would die to be a intern for this site :D

  8. Michele says:

In case anyone is missing the Friday shopping fix, John Masters Organics website has 25% off all body care products through Monday; enter promo code “labor day”.

  9. Alyssa M says:

i want to be an intern! …an internet intern. i live in canada, yo.
    also, so much pretty hair!

  10. Michele says:

Oops! There shouldn’t be a space in the promo code, enter “laborday”. Plus they also offer free shipping on all US orders.

  11. Ariel says:

    #88 has such pretty hair!

  12. Anne says:

Argh, I missed this for the second time! :(

Seriously, though, natural hair shows some great personality. The only styling I do nowadays is simply brushing… my scalp! My ends have crazy curls and people always ask if I had it done… nope. Love all of the pictures here! <3

  13. Look at all these gorgeous ladies! (And couple good lookin’ fellas,) I have total hair envy. Even better, I realized that even my \wild\ hair can look tamed without product. I typically use a few globs of goop to get ringlets, but without anything in my hair it turns out I have beachy waves… who knew?!

  14. Veronica says:

Yay! This is so great! I’m glad I was able to participate this year. A question for Alexandra: how do you get your curls to look so amazing and defined just by air drying?! I must know, I have been trying to achieve that my entire life! :)
