Happy Friday Deal from Kahina Giving Beauty!
Let’s be honest: Our Friday Deals are always special. But today is a little extra so because Kahina Giving Beauty—one of our favorite brands to begin with—is offering up one of our absolute favorite new products. Have you guessed yet? Here’s a hint: It’s pictured above, and it looks familiar because Siobhan rave-reviewed it last month and still won’t leave the house without it. Since trying this delicious product we’ve both been spraying it on our faces in a borderline-compulsive way because it’s hydrating without making you greasy, and imparts a glow even on our less-than-glowy days. So without further ado…
Here’s the deal: Kahina is giving you a FREE Toning Mist with any purchase over $75. The mist itself is valued at $36, so once again we’re talking about a brain-meltingly (expression of the week!) good deal. Just enter promocode FREEMIST and it will be included in your shipment. Note: It will not show up anywhere in your cart, but don’t panic, you’ll totally get it. The deal lasts until midnight next Thursday.
If you’re wondering what to get from Kahina, you just cannot go wrong with the pure argan oil, and while it may feel pricey, we should remind you a bottle lasts forever and it goes very nicely with the mist. But we also love the eye cream, the mask, and pretty much everything else they make. So enjoy!
Happy Friday, girls.

Ha! Perfect : ) I’ve been looking to get the mist since Siobhan’s review and then randomly getting a tiny sample (I think from SBL). For people like me who don’t like strong scents, the light rose scent is okay – it doesn’t overwhelm and doesn’t stick around. I use Kahina argan oil and the facial cleanser every day. Can’t say enough about argan oil. I mix in some actives to make it a lightener for my sun damaged spots. Between the natural awesomeness of argan and the extra blasting of sun damage my skin has never looked better. With all the cleansers I’ve tried, Kahina’s is the only one that I’m willing to keep spending a significant amount of money on. It’s really special – completely gets off all make-up including mascara and is super gentle and leaves my skin soft.
I can’t wait to see what the long-term benefits of the mist will be for me. Does anyone know what the percentage of salicylic acid amounts to in the product? Willow bark extract is one of the first few ingredients.
The multi-purposes Kahina Skin & Bones has been receiving rave reviews. Have you tried it yet? Does this Kahina Toning Mist smell as heavenly as Kahina Skin & Bones?
@Tess Skin&Bones is a different brand. They have similar packaging so I understand your confusion. Our Argan Oil is 100% argan oil– no essential oils, fragrance, other oils. Just pure vitamin E, essential fatty acid, antioxidant-packed goodness. Our Toning Mist is formulated with rose water, so it does have a slight rose scent that doesn’t linger.
@Rebecca- glad you love our Argan Oil and Cleanser! I think adding the Toning Mist to the routine will be a big plus– helps the oil absorb better, and also helps regulate cell turnover. I’m not sure about the comparable percentage of salicylic acid, not sure even we can compare, but I’ll see if our chemist has an answer for you!
I realize this is an absolute random place to put this comment BUT Im not much for blasting questions on facebook and Im at a loss for the moment. I am about half way through your book (love it so far. at least as much as you can love the fact tat certain beauty products are poisoning you and all) and it suggested going to cosmeticsdatabase.com to see if a product your using is safe or not. But unfortunutely I am finding that a lot of the products I am using currently arent in the database. So I am at a loss as to what to do now. Because it would take me literally forever to comb through some of the ingredients lists because they are miles long. And the ones I have (For istance co bigelow apple rose salve) the questionable ingredients are at the end and because I dont know how much on an ingredient is in it I dont truly know whether I should toss said item out. Help?
@Reni, you can register at cosmeticsdatabase.com to be able to input any product for which you have the ingredient list. Just go to the “build your own report” link at the top of the page. I usually go the product company’s website and just copy/paste the ingredients. There’s a bit more to it than that but it’s not hard and the site walks you through the process. You’ll get a list of scores by ingredient and an overall score. They do review what people put in eventually to make sure your info is accurate. They’ll ask for a donation but it’s not required – though I suppose those of us who use the site a lot will want to donate at some point. I’ve input a couple dozen products and it really helps me make informed choices (it’s not perfect, but a really great source of information).
Thanks Rebecca! I saw that option but didnt understand what it was for. (Im a tad blond I suppose) I appreciate the help!
Unbelievable product line! I recently began using the oil after trying so many different moisturisers in a desperate attempt to hydrate my skin. The oil has left my skin soft, plumper with hydration, cleared up sits and I notice a more radiant skin tone. The fine lines are so much less noticeable. I was given a sample of the eye cream which has been lovely to use and, again, I think the fine lines are disappearing (although this could also be the oil as I’ve had no problems using it in the eye area). I started using the toner just last week, after reading rave reviews about a quick spray before applying moisturiser, and I totally agree. I love the simplicity of this line. I cleanse, spritz, moisturise and apply a touch of eye cream – it’s so simple and effective. I suspect I will need to add the serum to my routine in the winter as the cold plus indoor heating wreak havoc on my complexion, but I am confident Kahina will continue to delight me!
@Rebecca, would you mind sharing which actives you add to your Kahina Argan Oil? I too have some sun damage areas and would love to try something that really works. If you can, I’d appreciate hearing from you with detailed instructions on proportions and how-tos . Thanks in advance.
@Naomi Thank you so much for your feedback. We’re thrilled Kahina has given you visible results, and that you’re willing to share your experience with others!
Just a reminder: you must enter FREEMIST at checkout to take advantage of this offer. Thanks!
@Nancy, happy to help, hope this is useful (it’s actually really cheap, just need a few things to get started):
actives from http://www.skinactives.com/
small scale from http://www.americanweigh.com/ (I have model AWS-70 digital scale)
weighing paper to weigh the actives on, then fold into a funnel to add your actives to the base (I took some extras from my lab at work but you can get these online)
I decided which actives to use based on what was in my old skin lightening cream (it worked but when I stopped using it due to the phenoxyethanol the damaged spots came back). I also searched skinactives for ideas. Skinactives gives info on how much of each active to use for a certain % solution, and I started with this info and adapted to my fairly primitive abilities at home (no personal chemist to figure things exactly). I have a Kahina Argan Oil bottle from the travel kit that I mix in, it’s a 30 ml bottle and I start with an estimated 25 ml of oil and add the actives in the following amounts:
liquorice extract .52g
Bearberry leaf extract .46g
Arbutin .38g
green tea .21g (not a skin lightener, just seemed like a good idea)
You could certainly round to the nearest .1g if you use a less precise scale. You could also get really precise with your measurements, maybe one day I’ll upgrade my process.
Put in the actives and shake, shake, shake! I give it a good shake before each use, and it is a bit gritty. But the small gritty bits go away as you rub in the oil on moist skin (toner first if you like). I started with the oil morning and night as the first thing to go on my skin (face, neck, chest – probably 6 drops or so covers this area), and got noticeable lightening of my sun damage within a month. My skin looked good within a couple months. When the Pai Bioregenerate was the Friday Deal I got that and started using that as my night treatment. So now it’s just the Kahina Argan oil mix in the morning to maintain results, and I’ve continued to see improvement in my skin. The worst of the brown patches are barely visible, and I think other people wouldn’t notice them at all. I had been thinking that not only my face but my brown-patchy chest were really showing my age, but now I feel like my skin has never looked this good.
@Rebecca – should we bring you on as a chemist?! So impressed that you’ve customized the argan oil to suit your skin needs & are seeing results.
@Rebecca – Thank you very much for taking the time to explain in details the whole process. I really appreciate you being so kind in sharing and will be following your instructions to the dot.
Hope to be able to report the same amazing results in a couple of weeks. Thanks again.
@Kahina Team, : ) I’m just a biologist who obsesses about my skin. It’s so awesome to have great info (like from NMDL) and great products (like from Kahina).
@Nancy, good luck and I look forward to hearing how it works for you!
@Rebecca You still listening, Rebecca? Ha! We’ve finally received confirmation about salicin content in the Toning Mist– it’s 1.5%.
sounds like a good deal, is the offer still available ? I have used argan oil many times before but never used this specific brand before.
I agree with you Rebecca for adding actives and using a scale to get accurate results, I actually bought mine from usbalance.com model (us-magnum-1000) very good scale.
