Interesting stuff. It’s a shame that US law doesn’t offer more protection. It would save on incidents like this where both professional stylists and at home users may have been harmed by products they bought in good faith…

@ Jordana……I am a hair stylist and I know for a fact your product contains formaldehyde. I was certified through your website, ordered YOUR product. My first two times doing the service I experienced burning eyes, and nose, and my throat hurt for two days. I also got a sinus infection within a week. You know what the symptoms are to exposure to formaldehyde? ?? Exactly what I listed above. Funny thing is a week after I exposed myself to the poison that is Brazilian Blowout, the reports came out of Oregon that stylists were getting sick. Now here we are with science from real chemists, (not who hire to speak for your company), stating the dangers of this supposed \safe\ product. I hope this lawsuit nails Brazilian Blowouts ass to the wall!!!

As I have been advising you for years only Yuko Japanese Reconditioning Treatment is safe, because it is a thioglycolate based service, just like a perm. Nice results, but it’s takes a lot of time and tender loving client care to perform this safe, reliable service.

But… Listen to any MD very carefully…or just ask your family doctor…if you enhale formaldehyde you can contract some form of cancer. Don’t do it….keratin treatments have been scamming hairstylists and their clients with mis-labeled smoothing products for years. Be careful. If your hairstylist advises you to use this and smell formaldehyde gas….they are simply in it for a money grab. Formaldehyde &/or formaldehyde gas causes cancer..this is a known scientific fact! JUST DON’T DO IT, find an alternative.
