Is Jasmine the Ultimate Chill Pill?
A bunch of Germans—why are they always out front on this stuff?—tested fragrances to see if they had any tangible effects on brain chemistry. Most of them did not, but jasmine? Big oui. It’s being called the first scientific proof that aromatherapy works.
From The Week:
Researchers … have concluded that the smell of Jasmine is just as effective as Valium—at least, on lab mice. Could doctors someday prescribe a daily whiff of this fragrant flower?
I mean, if they’re smart they will, am I right?

Oh dang, so that’s why I keep going back to Lush’s “Godiva” shampoo bar? I just wish it didn’t get stuck in its tin so often. (Tip: drill holes (or just prick with an ice pick, but sand off the edges so you don’t cut yourself) in the bottom of the tin lid and store the bar upside down. That way the curved lid + holes will prevent the bar from getting stuck, and you still save your bar from moisture and disintegration.) http://www.lushusa.com/shop/products/hair/solid-shampoos/godiva
Great information! I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now. Thanks!
I believe jasmine has definitly a calming chill effect. I keep visiting Lush shop and getting the Karma and flying fox products as they contain lots of jasmine. It’s really calming and relaxing. I also discovered that the fresh jasmine flowers are very important in the hindu religion and the hindu ladies wear them on their hair when visiting temples and on special occassions. Good tip from Emily. I shall check out the Godiva shampoo bar.
